Whales won't die out just yet

I was getting extremely worked up about this whaling issue over the past couple of days more then anyone could really know, it affected me so bad I took it out on my little sister, well she'll get me back eventually, or maybe I was just evening the score, she punches a lot and they often hurt.
Now enough about that, thank god that Australia and New Zealand still managed to get the majority vote, by three despite Japan's bribing of other governments.
I would like to say, that I still don't like Japan's whaling activities but you can't judge an entire country by the actions of a few of its people, and beside most whale contains high levels of mercury and other nasty products, those who eat the meat will kill themselves eventually, so people will no longer eat whale meat eventually.
Well one can hope, another issue that has really annoyed me, is the treatment of the RSPCA leader, by animal activists. Most of them aren't Australian, well the leader of them definitely ain't, but to push someone to have to have bodyguards whenever he goes to public functions is wrong, and animal activists should stop with their more extremists activities, do they want to be labled as terrorists, because their activities in this area borders extremely close to terrorism, it doens't help their cause one iota by doing it, other then putting the law against them.

Hey I'm pretty good about talking about world issues, maybe I should do it more often, or maybe I'm just horribly bad at it and don't realise it, anyway that's all from me today at least.

Should Whaling continue?

If you ask me straight out I will say no.
Whales are largely an endangered species that should be completely banned from being hunted. Numbers barely exceed one hundred thousand in any one species, they breed slowly and large scale modern harvast of whales would make them all extinct.
Also whales are possibly sentient creatures like humans, I read a story once where a group of two whales were swimming along, when a boat carelessy hit the female whale killing her instantly. In retaliation the male whale sank the boat. Serves them right but anyway, the male whale obvious showed that whales do seek revenge, an often thought do be human emotion.
Anyway Japan are being bastards and are in open defiance of the IWC's ruling on the matters.
They even fucking whale in Antarctica. I don't know what any one else thinks but to me that shouldn't be bloody happening.
America should do something about Japan's action in this manner, Japan are a highly advanced nation with many thriving industries. Why do they need to whale? It's not something you will find to be extremely culturely important to them, even if they have been whaling for a long time.
Anyway I like a lot of what Japan makes, anime for example but this just goes a bit far for my tastes.
Another thing most whale meat is unacceptable for human consumption due to a large amount of pesticides and mercury in their bodies.
One of Japan's arguments for why they should be allowed to whale was that Australia kills and eats kangaroos.
One problem with that argument, Kangaroo's number in the many millions, and are often considered pests around cities. And the large scale production of kangaroo meat is non existant in most states of Australia, except for possibly the Northern Territory, where food is scarce any way. Now This is an obvious flaw with their argument, also what Japan chooses to hunt are classed as endangered species and are supposed to be protected from hunting.
Another of Japan's arguments was that whales have eaten all their fish, utter bullshit, most whale don't even eat fish and Sperm Whales eat fish far below the line that most fishing ships fish. The main reason for the drop in fish is their own bloody actions, over fishing in their waters tends to kill of fish populations.
Anyway that's been my beaf for several days since I first heard about this utterly stupid debate. If I had a destroyer of some type, I would hunt down and destroy whaling ships...probably the reason why I don't have one...other then the fact that I'm also seventeen years old, anyway, you probably get my general message.
If you want to comment do so, but only about whaling for this blog at least.
